Graham Commits. One more scholarship left to give. I doubt the coaches want to sit on it, since they'll have four available after Battle, Jones, Brooks and Jackson graduate. So....who's the next target ? Another forward? That would be my guess, since I haven't been overly impressed with Oliver and Sasa (although they were only first year players last season) They could be better.

But I think by now you pretty much know who's going to develop and be good. My guess is Brooks and Jones are going to be single digit scorers as they have steadily been. So Battle and Jackson will have to lead they way with some help from Buie and Frazier. If ED can get some scoring from his bench (assuming that is Marshall, Graham and Bowman et al) there would be so much less pressure on TB. Either another post forward or a slashing type player providing a scoring threat could be the final piece to the puzzle for this squad in 2010-11.

But who out there is left to target? Anybody know?

Yeah, I saw that. Thanks for passing it on, though.

Not sure if that offer still stands for Mack and if it's anything more than just a verbal offer. With Burke coming in (and Frazier/Buie still on board), there's really no need for another PG, IMO.

We've been going after Hubert for a while but it's looking like he's going to be too big-time for us. A lot of big name suitors have been coming his way. We'll see though, he has kept mentioning us, and he was on campus for the OSU game.

From Rivals reports on the Boo Williams:

NJ PG Myles Mack has offers from DePaul, Fordham, St. John's, Virginia, Penn State, Western Kentucky, and a couple of others.

Also:

For the All-Ohio 17 and under squad, a nightmare start was quickly erased by Trey Burke. After falling behind 18-4, Burke went on a personal 14-0 run to tie up the score, and from there it was the Burke and Stevie Taylor show. Burke went for over 20, and was super hot from deep while Taylor took over going to the basket with his quickness and created for his teammates with his impressive feel for the game. Both players were the difference in an All-Ohio win.

If Battle Leaves, can we compare this to the Jerry Dunn "mass exodus"?

How about if Battle leaves and Buie decommits?

This could get pretty ugly, since the twitter posts suggest Clark and Majok have eliminated PSU.

NCAA rules forbids Battle from missing classes, tests or academic obligations in order to attend workouts with NBA scouts/teams. Unless he is leaving for sure and not worried about losing his eligibility next season, we shouldn't be too worried about him not finishing the rest of this semester academically.

Butler 52 MSU 50

Why can't Penn State be a little more like Butler? They lose Todd Lickliter, a highly successful coach there, but not only do they reload with players but also the coach. Lickliter goes on to tank at Iowa.

Both schools are surrounded by traditional basketball powerhouses. Butler contends for recruits with, in-state powers Indiana and Purdue not to mention Louisville, Kuntucky, surrounding Big-12 programs and midwest mid-majors.

PSU is encircled by eastern big boys Nova, Temple, Maryland, Pitt and Cuse to name just a few. However a huge difference with Butler is they seem to grab some players (apparently duh!) that don't get swallowed up by the neighborhood bigs. Penn State has difficulty in that regard.

Every once in a while a brilliant coach can put together a puzzle with odd pieces and make a run, but that is extremely rare. The real foundation of a team and a program is recruiting the right pieces in the first place. Butler seems to have done that consistantly; Penn State has yet to achieve that level of consistant re-loading.

Yeah, I have a profile of him saved as a draft. Just been too busy to put on the finishing touches. Hopefully will get that out sometime this weekend.
